Ballyglass Fun Run/Walk 2013
A big thank you to all who participated in the inaugural Ballyglass Fun Run/Walk on Saturday 30th April, 2013. Even though it was a cold day, the sun shone and the east wind kept the walkers and runners cool!
Thanks to Malone Farm Machinery - main sponsors of the event - and to Yvonne Malone who performed the official start to the race.
Thanks to Supervalu, Castlebar for sponsoring the fruit.
To all those who made sandwiches and wraps and provided the tea, coffee and refreshments - thank you all.
To the volunteers who encouraged the participants along the way and who ensured the smooth running of the race with traffic control, etc - thank you too.
To Brian Gibbons and his Civil Defence Crew - who ensured that everyone got back safely and were on hand if anyone required medical attention (thankfully they had NOTHING to do on the day) - a big thank you.
To An Garda Siochana and especially Garda Seamus Smyth - who lead the race and patrolled the area and made sure all ran smoothly - thank you.
And last but not least - to all who helped to organise today’s Finale of BotM (Ballyglass on the Move) - you are all wonderful and well done on organising a successful Keep Fit and Lose Weight campaign over the 7 weeks of Lent.
