Spring Clean

National Spring Clean

An Taisce's 2013 National Spring Clean campaign took place in April with groups organising clean-up events throughout the county.

The campaign is Ireland's largest anti-litter initiative and is funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.

The communities of Mayo Abbey, Facefield and Ballyglass performed their Spring Clean event on Friday April 19th. These were the details for the event...

  • Event to run on April 19th from 2pm to 6pm

  • Volunteers to cover the roads in their own area and pick any litter from the roadside.

  • Full bags to be brought to the three National Schools for collection.

  • A central skip to receive loads from the schools at 6pm.

  • Bags and gloves will be available from the three National Schools and Mayo Abbey Community Centre.

  • We will publicise the event through all available resources, newspapers, newsletters, websites, Facebook, twitter etc..

Note:

Safety is our first priority, everyone taking part in the Spring Clean should wear high-viz jackets when out on the public roads.

Children should be accompanied by an adult at all time.

Some gloves will be available on the day but volunteers are asked to bring their own as we may not have enough to go around.

Please take some photos during the event and send them to mayoabbeyfacefieldballyglass@gmail.com.

Thank you to everyone who took part to make this a very successful event.
